Building on our Make Every Step Count program of walking and step-counting, Make Every Dance Step Count is another fun way for girls, volunteers, family and community members to step up their physical activity through dance. Girl Scouts will explore the world of dance by discovering dance styles, the culture behind dances, and dancing’s health benefits. Time Flies

Time sure flies when you're moving! As we contend with an April 17th closing date on a house, from 2,600 miles away, the month has sort of snuck up on us. Now I have too much to do and too little time to do it in. I think that every weekend until we drive out of North Carolina is booked, mostly fun stuff with a little work thrown in here and there.

This coming weekend we are off to DC. It will be husband's first visit to our nation's capital and a trip that I feel is absolutely necessary. I am really looking forward to it even though the weather people are forecasting rain. The cherry blossoms should be in full bloom and I think that the National Mall and its surrounding area is one of the most moving and beautiful spaces in the world. I guess that's the patriot in me coming out. Maybe I will actually take and post some pictures.

I will be traveling to Ohio for a long weekend April 25 - 28. So, if you are reading this and are in traveling distance to my hometown, I would love to see you. I think that I am going to have to put in an order for Aunt Louise's pecan pie and strawberry dessert. Local bakery doughnuts and the Pizza Palace are always must eats...hmmm I think it's about dinner time.

On the baby front, all is well. I was just at the doctor today and she said that there was lots of movement and a strong heartbeat. I am slowly but surely coming to terms and prepping myself for all of the changes that are to come. I guess it's the lack of fitting into my pants that it making it the most real. I am still refusing to wear maternity clothes, so my plethora of clothing has slowly dwindled to about five pairs of elastic waist pants and several skirts that I wear "Mama" (as in that all too funny 80's sitcom Mama's Family) style, nestled just below my tatas. Lovely!

No Congratulations Necessary

I have avoided a subject for quite a long time now. Why? Because Husband and I have been attempting to get our head wrapped around the news for the past twelve weeks or so. Although, given the day that it is, I could not think of a more appropriate topic to blog about or more appropriate timing. Even now, I am not going to say too much about the subject other than to let you know that if everything goes as as anticipated, our family is expanding by one in October, and this time it is not a furry or four legged addition (I hope). Yep, that's right, I am pregnant. Not exactly happily so and not really excited about it, however pregnant none the less. (We did not heed the doctor's warning that antibiotics can reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills.) I am certain that there will be much more to read on this topic in the future, but for now, no congratulations are necessary.
