Poison
Okay, so I just had someone come into my office wearing Poison. Does anyone else remember that Christian Dior fragrance? (Or, in my younger days it was the Designer Imposters version from K-Mart that was ever so popular.) I haven’t smelled it in years. Talk about olfactory overdrive. WOW! I just had a serious flashback to 8th grade! …hanging out with my best friends Cary, Allison, & Michelle, my first kiss during For Keeps?, school dances with Ex-lax laced brownies, walks downtown to The Bake Shop for lunch, tanning in the back yard while listening to the Greese Soundtrack 8-track, camping with the family, disconnecting my knee while doing the splits, sneaking out of the house for the first time, riding my ten-speed all over the place…Fun times! Now, back to work.

Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden does the exact same thing to me! I keep an empty bottle if I ever want to go back to the 9th or 10th grade! Invite me when you go private!
Poison...that's an awful smell. I had an old boss that used to wear it...so I'm afraid it would make me think of her. :( Scents are supposed to trigger memories more than anything visual, so I've heard. Do you remember CKOne? Now that would bring back a few memories for me. I think it was in the 10th grade--everyone wore it.
I remember all of those fragrances...Christy, I would love to keep reading your blog...

Gee, when I saw the title, I first thought about one of my fav 80's hair bands! But I do remember the frangrance, too. It takes me back to Friday nights working in the cosmetic department at PharMor drug store, anxiously waiting for 9:30 when I could escape to the teen dances and rock out to, "Ceci pick up that guitar and talk to me!" Or, hopefully, some cute boy would ask me to dance when "Every Rose Has its Thorn" came on. Ah, sweet memories!
8th grade? Has it been around that long? I remember it from college since that's when a boyfriend gave it to me. Remember Drakkar Noir? I think every guy I dated wore that stuff. Not sure if those are good or bad memories...!
Oh yes e, it has been that long. Now didn't just about every boy were Drakkar Noir at some point in time? I know husband did.
And, anonymous, I LOVE the Poison you are reffering to. I still listen to "Cry Tough" just about every week when I run. But what I remember from my younger days is my best friend and I rockin' out to "Talk Dirty to Me" into our hair brush microphones in her bedroom. It was SO naughty! And, Bret Michaels was SO hot. And, he still is in a hair band sort of way. I know I caught him on "Rock of Love" a few times.
Ha ha! I'm with Nicole on the CK-One. I think everyone I knew wore that stuff. I bet the teachers at my school hated that crap since they had to be overwhelmed by it :)
Everyone guy I knew in high school wore Drakkar! So funny the memories it brings up when I smell it now.
